The exploration dives are usually done at the pass of Tuheiava, a 20/25 minutes boat trip from the village. For those reasons, we often go for 2 successive dives.
Schedules are not fixed. Those depend on the tides and if we are notified in advance of your arrival time in Tikehau.
Whatever the direction the current comes from and whether be it from left or right of the Tuheiava’s pass, the dives are much easier and less deep at Tikehau than in any other atolls.
Local underwater wildlife has nothing to envy: large hammerhead, tiger, tapete, grey reef, blacktip sharks, as well as humphead wrasses, sea turtles, shoals of longface emperors, barracudas, great barracudas, jackfishes, taias, atures are regularly observed.
Good to know :
if there is spare space on board, the non-divers will be able to join us on our trip to the pass and discover it snorkelling or from the boat.
no need to worry anymore to find a place opened to grab a bite after your morning dive: Tahitian raw fish, sashimi and other local specialities will be waiting for you at the Pension’s snack!
